After this weekend’s action-packed Kaiser Maximilian Lauf, there are now changes both in the SC Ranking, which you can read about in yesterday’s article, and in the Fantasy game. Emil Persson, Lager 157 Ski Team, won the race, his second victory of the season, and he seems to be quite a great Fantasy player as well since his team Norrlandsguld Ski Team took the top spot. Andreas Nygaard, Team Ragde Eiendom, couldn’t help but let Emil pass him at the end of the race and finished second. The same happened in the Fantasy game as his team Nygaard’s Disipler is now behind Emil’s. But the fight between these two teams is fierce.

Third in the game is Jonas Wikström’s Stavknäckargänget followed by Astrid Øyre Slind’s  Los Astridos. Britta Johansson Norgren’s BJN is fifth while her teammate Marcus Johansson’s Heman is sixth. It seems that our Pro Team Athletes are performing well in the Fantasy game as well, but you can join the fun if you haven’t done it yet.

The rules are simple. A participant can only have one account and he or she gets $40,000 fantasy dollars. The money can be used to buy athletes for his or her fantasy team – the maximum number of athletes is 10. Each athlete’s cost will change throughout the season. If an athlete’s value increases while he or she is on your team, you may keep the athlete on your team without paying the new higher price. When you sell an athlete, you will receive the athlete’s current price. In this way, it is possible to have more than $40,000 fantasy dollars, but it is also possible to have far less than $40,000 fantasy dollars. The team selection closes at midnight CET before each race.

Remember that not all athletes are going to compete in all races, and you can only trade away and replace up to 3 athletes each weekend. You can drop as many athletes as you want. The great thing is that the Fantasy Pro Teams with the top three scores at the end of the season will recieve prizes, which will be awarded interactively at the Ski Classics Gala in Levi on April 14.

Also note that your Fantasy points are awarded to athletes for the four individual competitions: Champion, Sprint, Climb, and Youth. An athlete's points from these four categories are put together to find the number of points they scored in a race. Youth points are equivalent to 50% of Champion points, so a skier of age 26 or below essentially scores one and a half times the Champion points in a race.
