Taivalkoski Pölkky offers its participants excellent weather conditions and beautiful scenery in Taivalkoski, northeastern part of Finland. The new Visma Ski Classics Challengers series, launched earlier in April this year, is a common platform created in order to connect and promote long distance skiing events worldwide.

Taivalkoski Pölkky consists of 50km held in classic technique, in two laps of 25km, traversing snow-covered forests and under the pleasant spring weather. Taivalvaara ski center has acted as the stage for many national skiing competitions and is famous for its good racing structure, ready to welcome all the long-distance recreational skiers and Pro Tour athletes.

"It's great that we got the chance to organize this event and through Visma Ski Classics Challengers we believe we can attract more skiers to enjoy Taivalkoski Pölkky!" says Matti Tyni, President Taivalkoski Pölkky.

"Finland is a great part of the ski world, having a new event there is great news for Visma Ski Classics! The fact that it is held weekend after the final event in the Pro Tour make the Challenger points count for the season after, so skiers in good shape at Ylläs-Levi could in Taivalkoskt Pölkky secure important points already for Season XI, warm welcome to the Visma Ski Classics family!" says David Nilsson CEO Visma Ski Classics.
