Team Rustad IL Oslo from Norway finished their 10-day training camp in Ramsau am Dachstein, Austria, last week. The Pro Team, along with some junior and senior skiers, had two training session per day; one ski workout in the morning up on the glacier and another one on dry-land. The team did also three double-poling sessions on uphill with the total altitude difference of 490 meters. Their skiing exercises took place at 2,700 meters above sea level while the more intensive sessions were done only about 1000 meters a.s.l.

“We had a huge group of people, about 30,” Ståle Fenstad, the director and Pro Skier himself, says feeling very satisfied. “Essentially, the week was about exercising, eating and sleeping. Ramsau is a great place for capacity training as the altitude is perfect, and there are many great climbs for roller-skiing and Nordic walking and running. We had a successful camp and I hope it will make us stronger this winter. Next weekend we will have a camp at home in Oslo. That training session focuses on double-poling, and we’ll have an uphill running test as well.”
